Nebuchadnezzar II, king of Babylon, chosen of the gods Nabû and Marduk, am I.
When the god Marduk, the great lord, called me to restore the cult centers, he made me take up residence in his majesty and made me dwell in the sanctuaries. At that time, Sippar, the exalted cult center beloved by the god Shamash and the goddess Aya, crossed the Euphrates with him and he sat down with him to exercise their lordship. He poured out water for the reeds and drank the libations.

As for Nabopolassar, the humble and reverent one who reveres the gods, I brought the Euphrates to Sippar and firmly established holy water for the god Shamash, my lord.
I surrounded the bank of that river with bitumen and baked brick and thereby provided a secure port for the god Shamash, my lord.
As for me, Nabopolassar, the humble and respectful one who reveres the gods, I had the Euphrates River dug to Sippar and thereby I firmly established an abundance of pure water for the god Shamash, my lord.
I firmly secured the bank of that river with bitumen and baked bricks and thereby provided the god Shamash, my lord, with a secure embankment.
